Welcome

Dragon Hall is a Grade 1 listed trading hall built in about 1430. It is a unique legacy of medieval life and is one of the most important historic buildings in Norwich and Norfolk.

The magnificent first floor Great Hall has an outstanding crown post roof with a beautifully carved dragon which gives the building its name. You can find out more about Dragon Hall in our Discover pages.

Dragon Hall has recently undergone a £1.8 million programme of restoration and development largely funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. We re-opened in April 2006 and welcome visitors, guided tours and school groups. Displays on three floors tell the fascinating tale of Robert Toppes, the wealthy merchant who built Dragon Hall, and the building's place in the story of Norwich.
